Closer To Cow Dairy is a membership-based farm, built around relationship and shared responsibility. By joining, you become part of our herd share — a traditional model that allows members to receive fresh, raw milk from cows they collectively care for. This structure keeps milk personal, transparent, and rooted in trust rather than distance.

Membership connects you directly to the farm, the cows, and the rhythm of the seasons. You aren’t buying milk from an anonymous source; you are supporting the care of a specific herd, on a specific piece of land, tended daily by people you know. In return, members receive a regular share of milk, along with a deeper understanding of how it’s produced and why that matters.

Joining is simple and personal. Prospective members start by learning about the herd share agreement, our standards, and what to expect as part of the farm community. From there, we’ll guide you through the membership process and answer any questions along the way. This isn’t about volume or speed — it’s about fit.

Raw milk is living food — unprocessed, unhomogenized, and handled with intention from cow to jar. Our milk comes from grass-fed Ayrshire cows and is produced in small batches with strict cleanliness and care. Because raw milk is different from store-bought milk, joining also means learning: how to handle it, store it, and enjoy it safely and fully.
